How to disable conversion just for videos?

Postby TomekGnomek » Tue Jun 09, 2015 1:53 pm

I've come to terms with the process of converting photos and creating thumbnails, which takes forever, but I would like to disable creating lower-quality videos. I have disabled the "convert videos for mobile devices" option but DSM still creates H364 and FLV preview files. Is it possible to disable this?

I want to disable video conversion in Photo Station but I want to have enabled the creation of thumbnails. It seems that both are the same in the configuration of Photo Station. Is it possible to configure them separately? It could be implemented in the next update? Thank you.

Same concern for me
I don't want to generate converted video files but I still want to generate thumbnail for my photos.
My NAS takes 1hour to convert 5 video files of 20 seconds so I want to disable the feature !

There is no option to turn of video conversion in Photo Station.
In system settings, "Converts video for mobile device" is unchecked but it does'nt work.

If anyone find a solution, please share !
Thanks

There's no way to switch it off. You can mitigate the problem by using Photo Station Uploader.

Thanks for your reply.
This setting should really be implemented !
By using uploader, you lose the ability to easily backup your camera roll from your phone to your nas by wifi... :(

Edit: one thought... What's the purpose of "convert videos for mobile devices" then ?

This setting makes an MP4 file in addition to the default FLV file. Switching it off thus saves one file conversion but it always makes the FLV file if you want to be able to have a thumbnail and view videos in PS. You can't have the video thumbnail without the video FLV conversion.
