No option for webDAV ???

Postby Aureyl » Sat Jan 30, 2016 9:45 pm

Hi, and first, sorry for my very bad english (I'm french).

I have a Synology Router RT1900AC and a disk station DS215+

I have an option for webDAV in the RT1900AC... But NOTHING in the DS215+... It should be in File Services like for the routeur, but there is nothing...
How could I do? Where it is?

Thanks for your help ;-)

On DSM 5.2 it is in File Services, on DSM 6 it has to be installed from package center.

Did you set the permission for the WebDav application? Per default a user can not use WebDav.

Hi

Webdav after DSM6
Firstly I've found it impossible to remotely contact the Synology user interface in any other way than using the HTTPS (port 5001 by default)
- If wanted you can change settings under "Control Panel" / "Network" / "DSM Settings"

Webdav
In DSM6 "Webdav Server" must be installed separately from the "Package Center".
Then after install, you must activate HTTP to enable remote access (what! why else install Webdav? but yes you must. - Really silly and took me 3 hours to figure out.)
- click "Main Menu" (top left on main screen), "Webdav Server" and enable HTTP/HTTPS access.

Now edit all your existing users that should have Webdav access, through "Control panel" / "Users" / "Edit" and add Webdav under "Applications"..

FINALLY it works provided you have forwarded port 5005 (or what ever) in your Router to port 5005 on the Synology.
AND if you enabled the Synology Firewall, you also need to enable the port there...

But adding HTTPS support is a massive headache. I don't want our office user to access out files unencrypted.

Let's Encrypt cert is easy in DSM. Look up on sinology website

Return to “WebDAV”
