Where are the main menu options?

An update of DSM 3.0 operating system, including enhanced iPhone and Android phone support, Windows ACL integration, comprehensive iSCSI support, extended volume size capability, Surveillance Station, and a new feature of Time Backup application.

Where are the main menu options?

Postby bosch » Wed Sep 29, 2010 9:49 pm

Hi,

After upgrading to DSM 3.0, and logging in with my Administrator password, I only see very few options in the main menu. The only options I have are:
File Browser
Personal Settings
DSM help
Audio Station

I cannot change any settings from here. What am I missing?

Thanks,

BJ

Icon on the top left gives a drop-down with everything in. Open Control Panel and there is all the rest. You can drag and drop anything to the desktop for easy access.

it is very strange, but at the top left see an icon for "show desktop" and next to that is a down arrow. When I click that, I see a window with just four icons:
File Browser
Personal Settings
DSM help
Audio Station

I don't see anything else. Any ideas?

The content of this Control-box depends on the actual users permissions.
If you login as admin, you have all programs and rights and may pull
the icons to the window for easier access - and they can be pulled back again.

That's it! No admin rights. Logged in with the admin account and all is fine now.
Thanks so much!

Don't you get a control-box when using the blue down-arrow top-left where all things are placed?

DS210j upgrade - no menus

Postby grimmy66 » Sat Oct 23, 2010 11:16 am

I've just bought my first Disk station DS210j.
Installed 2.3 and configured 2 1.5TB disks in RAID 1 no problem.
I updated to 3.0 - 1337 from the website and have a problem.
I can log on but cannot find any menu options apart from personal settings - a bit of an issue as I cannot now do anything with my disks!!!!
Can anyone help please???
