Cannot access wireless lan anymore after upgrade to 3.0

Postby capitanharlock » Tue Sep 28, 2010 12:06 am

After this upgrade I cannot join anymore the Ds409 to my wireless lan...
It tells me: connection failed. Please check thj network information you entered.
The encryption password I enter is obviously right.

I am using a timecapsule wifi ap and a D-link DWA140 Usb stick that worked perfectly with the previous firmware....

I tried with the access point security disabled, but nothing changes.

I'm having the same problem, sine upgrading my DS110j to DSM 3.0. It recognizes that the usb wireless adapter is installed, but it will not join my Apple wireless network. It appears to me that the encryption is not correct, because when I try the hidden network option, the error message is that my pass work is not the right length.

Im also having the problem with DS210+ and Dlink DWA140. I just bought the system and expected this to work. Should I downgrade or wait for a patch ?

I cannot create a wireless network on a DS409+ (firmware 3.0-1337) with the official tested D-Link DWA140 USB WLAN stick... The password (WPA2) is not accepted, but it is correct.

@Synology: Will we get a solution or a update for the current firmware 1337 ??

(FW3.0 is really the most buggy firmware since a few years!!)

Greetings all,

Are there any special characters involved within the WAP key?
What if changing a simple authentication password may resolve the issue?

The technicians have been looking into this problem now, and hopefully it'll be fixed by the follow-up release.

FYI.

Thank you.

@antoiney: Thx for your answer.

Of course, I have special characters involved within my WAP2 key, f.e. $ . It is recommended to use these characters for higher protection against brute force attacks.

Within my wireless network, there are 10 devices (not at the same time), f.e. PS3, Xtreamer, Eee, desktop PCs .... All devices can work with these special characters, so I will never change the WAP2-key on 10 devices because only the DS409+ are not able to work with the key.

I hope a firmware update will solve the problem...

Solved with 3.0-1354

Postby Superdaby » Thu Nov 04, 2010 11:21 am

The problem is solved with firmware 3.0-1354.

The WAP2-key (with special characters!) was accept with DHCP. After this you can switch to manual configuration with static IP (internal).

Now my DS409+ is wireless :-)))

Thx to Synology!!
