Copy as is folder structure between two NAS

Unread post by its » Fri Jan 05, 2018 10:43 am

Hey Guys

I have 2 Synology NAS over local network.. One is 2 x JBOD so two volumes (DS214Play) which has data and other is 2 x SHR (DS918+) single volume setup.. If I want to copy the structure of all folders etc as is from DS214Play to DS918+ how do i do it? I guess Hyper Backup doesn't keep the structure as is but creates its own hbk file..

It is kind of migration but I didn't move disks.. but want to move folders and structure as is .. don't want to mount in file station and copy one by one.. but probably setup something which can move and I can goto sleep ..

The folder structure / shared folders exist in new NAS.. Just need to sync / move data between them once..

Urgent help required on this one.. thanks

HyperBackup rsync legacy option will transfer the folder structure as is. On the wizard menu in hyper backup, scroll to the very bottom.

Ohh.. I didn't see that option - didn't scroll that far down.. I started using Cloud Station ShareSync as I found that could do what I wanted... Is that ok? Or should I stop it and start HyperBackup? and it will not overwrite already copied stuff??

CloudStation ShareSync or Shared FolderSync are the options. Hyperbackup legacy option doesnt create shared folders, it does just copy the folder structure as subfolders of a backup share.
