Homes Folder Shows A Lot Of Data Which Is Invisible & Doesn't Sync

Postby Nasconfused » Mon Nov 20, 2017 3:26 pm

I have a 1515+ doing a Shared Folder Sync to a 216se which, after a lot of fooling around with volumes, finally reported success. A quick check via Storage Manager showed a discrepancy of almost 220Gb more on the 1515 which I have tracked down to the Shared Folder "Homes". When viewed using Properties, one of the sub folders reports 219.63Gb on the 1515 yet only 346.1Mb on the 216. If I open the folders the listing looks the same - 109 word documents and the cloudstation folder and checking these by multi-selecting gives the identical results of 346.1Mb for both NAS. So somewhere there may 219Gb of data that isn't visible or copying or it's phantom in some way.

This caused me to investigate our other backup and I found exactly the same issue and given that the SFS reported success in both cases it casts doubt on the whole process.

Can anyone please suggest a way forward?

It turned out to be an innocuous folder of Lightroom previews in a recycle bin that I thought had been emptied.
