Synology DS216J server is not a media server

Unread post by needhelp! » Sat Mar 04, 2017 6:28 pm

Hello, I was hoping someone might be able to steer me in the right direction. I just got this NAS a few weeks ago. I had it set up and was proceeding to rip my music collection to the NAS. It operated fine up until this morning. The Synology assistant can no longer find it and when I try to stream music from it through my Network Player it gives me a message saying that the selected server is not a media server. For the life of me, I can't figure out what happened, I didn't change any settings or anything like that. It was working fine when I ripped a bunch of my CDs last night. I've tried unplugging everything from the power outlet and have also replaced the ethernet cable without any results. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.
