Backup Home PCs to NAS on LAN but in neighbors home: need encryption

Unread post by hopespoppa » Thu Oct 12, 2017 12:17 am

Purchased a DS115j to backup home PC's with photos, tax records ect. To reach 3-2-1 backup goal of offsite copy, I intend to place the NAS device in my neighbor's home which has an ethernet cable from my router. So it will be on the LAN. I will try to secure it in some locker, but want to encrypt the data, just for security sake.

i want to set up automated regular backups.

The problem arises that (1) Cloudstation server doesn't seem to support encrypting cloudstation backup folders and (2) my cloudstation backup client on my pc doesn't seem to support the selection of a NAS shared folder(encrypted) as a backup destination.

Is there something I'm missing? Or some other software I should be using?
Thank You in advance for your consideration.
