WD Green 30EZRX temperature slightly high in ds412+

Postby Yome » Thu Jul 04, 2013 2:40 pm

I have just installed a new Green WD30EZRX-00AZ6BO which I got as a replacement from WD as my previous green failed with a lot of I/O errors. It is my disk 4 in my Synology ds412+.
The temperature of that new hard drive is at 35°C while my 3 other drives have:
Disk 1: WD30EFRX-68AX9NO at 31°C
Disk 2: WD30EFRX-68AX9NO at 32°C
Disk 3: WD30EZRX-00DC0B0 at 31°C

So my disk 3 is also a green but a different version. Why is it 4°C cooler than the new one? I use the cool mode so that the fan runs faster.
The other drives have the same temperature so is there something wrong with the bay 4 of my Synology?

What is the difference between both green models: WD30EZRX-00AZ6BO vs WD30EZRX-00DC0B0?
I saw that the WD30EZRX-00AZ6BO is made in Thailand while WD30EZRX-00DC0B0 is made in Malayisa...
Any clue?

Well, I feel a bit strange so if anyone has such experience, I would like to hear from you guys.
