DS209 Slow to Respond

Unread post by rcblackwell » Wed Sep 07, 2011 3:55 am

I have a two year old DS209 with two WD WD20EADS-00R6B0 drives setup in the SHR configuration. The drives were formatted ext4 with either DSM 3.0 or 3.1, I don't remember which. The unit has DSM 3.2 installed, upgraded this morning from 3.1. Even before upgrading to DSM 3.2 the unit was becoming noticably slower. In some cases it's taking minutes to refresh Pictures on PhotoStation and song lists on Windows Media Player. Now that I've upgraded it's even worse. I'm wondering if slowness issues mentioned in this forum for WD 1TB drives could also impact the 2 TB drives?
