Populating new DS1511+ w/ WD Green Drives

Unread post by jordantbro » Wed Aug 10, 2011 9:42 pm

I'm planning to populate my soon to arrive DS1511+ with the following mix of drives:

1 - WD15EARS-00Z5B1
1 - WD15EADS-00P8B0
1 - WD15EADS-00S2B0
1 - WD20EARS-00MVWB0
1 - WD20EARS-00J2GB0

The DS will be running the 3.2 beta DSM, and setup using SHR. Based on the compatibility list, I'm lead to believe that they are supported. But the sticky at the top of this forum, and the fact that this forum even exists is cause for concern.

Thank you in advance.

Agreed, disable wdidle3 using a usbbootdrive with the drives directly connected to your motherboard.

I have 5 2TB WD Greens in a 1511+ running Raid 6 for about 6 months.
