WD10EARS a supported substitute for WD10EADS?

Postby northleap » Fri Jan 29, 2010 3:07 pm

I have read many of the posts about the unsupported Western Digital hard drive WD10EADS-00P8B0.

It appears they are now selling a newer version of the Green Caviar Drive with a new model number WD10EARS.

Has anyone had experience with this drive? Does it have any of the same issues as the WD10EADS-00P8B0? Is it fully supported by Synology?

Thanks for your help.

They're officially supported, but several users have reported issues with them. So maybe you should wait until Synology gives a clear answer.
