Are WD20EARX drives supported in DS215J?

Discussion about the Western Digital Green Drive, specifically, the WD15EADS-00P8B0, and WD10EADS-00P8B0 drives. Any form of disrespectful behavior will result in immediate ban. Hi @geo86!

If you already have the Green drives you can try to plug them in the NAS and see if they'll work with it.

If however you are going to get new HDDs I would recommend to consider WD Red since it is a NAS/RAID drive that is designed specifically for RAID environments and NAS devices, and it is tuned, optimized for 24/7 performance and RAID arrays.

Hi,

Thanks for reply. I actually have the Greens from a previous NAS (buffalo).
I just received the DS215J enclosure today so I will give them a try tonight.

For further reference, these drives work in DS215J but the preformance is very low.
The whole thing sounds like a salt grinder. :))
It seems to be some issues with certain WD Green so please check before buy. Or don't buy WD Green at all.
