Hosting ESXi on Synology Possible?

Unread post by jetspeedz » Fri Sep 29, 2017 5:31 pm

I think i already know the answer to this but my internet search didn't yield any answers.

I assume Synology does not have an integrated product that can both serve as a Host for VMWare ESXi and NAS correct. From what i read back in 2014 Synology only offers a NAS and can't host ESXi. I see some have installed Virtual Box but runs poorly b/c of resources issues.

I like my Synology NAS, it has never failed me so I'm looking for a solution for a friend to upgrade an outdated legacy server, was curious if Synology is still only functioning as a NAS still only to an external Host.

Thanks

No, you only run DSM on NAS. Synology have their own virtualization in beta. It on their website

Thanks for the confirmation, do you have a link to what they are testing?
