VAAI has not worked for me on ESX 6u2 or ESX6.5 since I upgraded my DSM to 6.0.2

Worse on ESXi 6.5 the VIB will install and run. On my 21 host it changes ever guest to appear to be "Thick provisioned eager zeroed" when it's not (it's thin provisioned) even on storage systems that are NOT synology. When I try to svMotion the guest I get a generic error. If I uninstall the synology VAAI plugin everything show and works normally. Using current version of plugin. Looks like it needs to be updated/fixed.

It appears the VAAI primitives are not working for a 426 model.
I exported via NFS two folders /volume1/nfs1 and volume1/nfs2 on the DS416 to the same ESX host.
I then went to the datastore and moved a VM from /volume1/nfs1 to volume1/nfs2. Instead of performing the move within the DS416, the files went back and forth from the NAS to the ESX.
Is this expected behavior?

Similar problems here. DS216+II connected to VMware 6.5 with VAAI installed. When I move a thin provisioned disk to the Synology using storage VMotion, the disk is converted to thick.
