Proper ESXI configuration wiht HA cluster

Postby huntson » Thu Jun 09, 2016 11:10 pm

Just want to confirm I'm doing this right in order to minimize downtime.

I'd like results similar to this video:

I currently have two Synology units in a HA Cluster and I have my ESXi systems pointing to the cluster IP address to use as iSCSI storage. If one of the Synology units goes offline, the other should, eventually, take over - right? I don't have to do any additional configuration on the ESXi side?

Make sure to adjust the timeout value: https://blog.synology.com/?p=1648

But yes it's an automatic failover since you're connecting to the cluster IP and not an individual one. The target follows the same logic. It's created for both systems and not individually.
