Logon in web interface in Safari Mac

Unread post by UlfLaursen » Fri Sep 21, 2018 5:27 am

Hallo

I have trouble logging into my Synology from Safari 12 on High Sierra.

I first get a warning about the certificate, the I chose to continue and add the exception, but after adding it it returns to the warning.

How to go about that - works ok in Firefox or Chrome.

I just want to be able to install and trust the certificate once and for all. I tried to delete the cert. inside keychain, but still no luck.

Thanks.

Hi

Are you logging in via a IP or Domain name?

Some browsers only accept the certificate if it's connected to a Domain name.

If you have a fixed IP, and a Domain name, pointing towards it, then you can setup a certificate in DSM, Control Panel, Security, in tab Certificate.
There is an option to create a free Let's Encrypt.

Thanks will try that out, but I connect from the LAN side not WAN, does that then still count?

Thanks
