Compiling MediaInfo

Unread post by srcdng » Sun Oct 24, 2010 11:12 am

Hi !

I've a DS110j NAS version (Marvell Kirkwood mv6281 ARM Processor) and I've downloaded mediainfo cli tar from:
http://downloads.sourceforge.net/mediai ... ce.tar.bz2

I've compiled MediaInfoLib and ZenLib sources with optware-devel installed, but an error compiling MediaInfo cli exe appers:

Code: Select all

/opt/lib/gcc/arm-none-linux-gnueabi/4.2.3/../../../../arm-none-linux-gnueabi/lib/libpthread.so: undefined reference to `__default_sa_restorer_v2@GLIBC_PRIVATE'
/opt/lib/gcc/arm-none-linux-gnueabi/4.2.3/../../../../arm-none-linux-gnueabi/lib/libpthread.so: undefined reference to `__default_rt_sa_restorer_v2@GLIBC_PRIVATE'

collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make: *** [mediainfo] Error 1
I've tried several times with different options, but without success.

Can anybody help me ?

I attached log files:

Hi srcdng,

I'm experiencing exactly the same problem. Did you ever manage to find a solution for this?

Thanks,
Mark

It compiled fine for me. All I did was this:

Code: Select all

CC=/usr/local/arm-none-linux-gnueabi/bin/arm-none-linux-gnueabi-gcc
CXX=/usr/local/arm-none-linux-gnueabi/bin/arm-none-linux-gnueabi-g++
LD=/usr/local/arm-none-linux-gnueabi/bin/arm-none-linux-gnueabi-ld
CFLAGS=-I/usr/local/arm-none-linux-gnueabi/include
LDFLAGS=-L/usr/local/arm-none-linux-gnueabi/lib
PATH=$PATH:/usr/local/arm-none-linux-gnueabi/bin
./CLI_Compile.sh --host=arm-none-linux-gnueabi --prefix=/usr/local/arm-none-linux-gnueabi
and then the compiling ended with

Code: Select all

arm-none-linux-gnueabi-g++ -O2 -DUNICODE -DUNICODE -DUNICODE -o mediainfo CLI_Main.o CommandLine_Parser.o Help.o Core.o  /root/MediaInfo_CLI_GNU_FromSource/MediaInfoLib/Project/GNU/Library/.libs/libmediainfo.a -lz -L/root/MediaInfo_CLI_GNU_FromSource/ZenLib/Project/GNU/Library /root/MediaInfo_CLI_GNU_FromSource/ZenLib/Project/GNU/Library/.libs/libzen.a -lpthread
MediaInfo compiled
MediaInfo executable is in MediaInfo/Project/GNU/CLI
For installing, cd MediaInfo/Project/GNU/CLI && make install
and it runs too:

Code: Select all

DiskStation> ./mediainfo --Version
MediaInfo Command line,
MediaInfoLib - v0.7.35
I'm using DSM 3.2 Tool Chains / Marvell 88F628x Linux 2.6.32 / gcc421_glibc25_88f6281-GPL.tgz to compile.

I noticed that srcdng's last compile statement looks a lot different than mine. It should be more like this:

Code: Select all

arm-none-linux-gnueabi-g++ -O2 -DUNICODE -DUNICODE -DUNICODE -o mediainfo CLI_Main.o CommandLine_Parser.o Help.o Core.o  /root/MediaInfo_CLI_GNU_FromSource/MediaInfoLib/Project/GNU/Library/.libs/libmediainfo.a -lz -L/root/MediaInfo_CLI_GNU_FromSource/ZenLib/Project/GNU/Library /root/MediaInfo_CLI_GNU_FromSource/ZenLib/Project/GNU/Library/.libs/libzen.a -lpthread
I hope this helps you.

Let me know if you can't compile it. Then I'll upload the binary somewhere for you.

Cheers
- PK

The OP's problem looks like the same libpthread issue which was solved here:
http://forum.synology.com/enu/viewtopic ... 90&t=30132
For my packages (Java, Serviio, CrashPlan, CrashPlan PRO, CrashPlan PROe, Minecraft, Craftbukkit, OpenRemote, and Bliss), add my repo URL to Package Center: http://packages.pcloadletter.co.uk
