255 Character Limit For File Names.

Postby notec » Tue Jan 11, 2011 3:48 pm

In the non-encrypted shared folder, File/folder name should be within 255 characters. Why is this restriction in place? Is there a way to increase to 2 KB block size of the filesystem to 4 KB? This is after all a ext3 filesystem correct?

I have very long flac file names for songs that exceed the 255 char limit and it's displaying as 8.3 dos names in FileStation.
