Awfull transfer performance (400 KB/s)

Unread post by flodor2 » Sun Sep 23, 2018 12:58 pm

Hello,

I have a DS 718+ II with improved ram up to 8GB, with the famous Crucial CT102464BF160B 8Go.

I have a simple GigaByte network, internet connection up to 800 MB/s

And still, my NAS won't transfer files to more than 400 KB/s, in any case. Remote access, local access, from windows explorer, with file station, with ... It's always that slow, whatever the kind of transfer is.

I have 2 Seagates 4TB in it, deep smart test is full green and the system is reactive. It's really about transfers.

It's just unusable when you work with files up to 20 GB

Do you have any idea why this is so slow and how to fix it ?

Thank you

So what direction are you testing these copy transfers? From your NAS, to your NAS, from the outside as well? What protocol is in question? Is there a VPN component included or not?

Hi,

Thanks for your answer

The problem occurs from NAS to computer. After reading your answer, I tested from computer to NAS and here I have 110MB/s

So the problem definitly occurs NAS>Computer

Here a recap :

Windows explorer : NAS>Windows : 480KB/s | Windows>NAS : 110 MB/s
File Station : NAS>Windows : 480KB/s | Windows>NAS : 50MB/s
WebDav with WinSCP : NAS>Windows : 465KB/s | Windows>NAS : 55MB/s to 35MB/s

There is no VPN

Locked
