212j Running DSM 6.1.3-15152 Update 6 High CPU Usage

Unread post by Compstuff » Mon Oct 09, 2017 3:31 pm

Now that I seem t have my network throughput and disk performance issue resolved I am trying to understand what is going on with the CPU usage at idle being so high. Doing nothing the CPU is running around 30% and bounces all over the place. The overall response of the systems is really laggy and slow, especially compared to my Synology 119 with 1 WD Green 7200 RPM, 1.5 TB, DSM 4.2-3259 running no packages. That sits at 4% when idle and is super snappy and responsive

My System:
Synology 212j with 2 WD RED PRO 7200 RPM 4TB in SHR 1, fresh install DSM 6.1.3-15152 Update 6
Packages: Audio Station, Cloud Station, File Station, Hyperbackup, iperf3, Photo Station, PHP 7.0, Universal Search (indexing is off, no folders in universal search or indexing)
tried sudo synoservice --disable pkgctl-SynoFinder no difference

Any ideas? Are the installed packages doing this? None of the packages are really configured and doing anything yet since I just set this all up.

I don't get it... this CPU usage just doesn't make any sense at all. I'm now running update 8 and again ran sudo synoservice --disable pkgctl-SynoFinder but its just been using about 30% CPU for the last 24hrs

AWESOME!!! Thanks I am checking it now... ironically the CPU usage is now down and bouncing between 10% and 17%
