@Alfredo
At first I was concerned with the size of the DSM3.1 FW 158MB, the FW size didn't cause any problems but rather the CPU loading was the problem. Here is what I have done.

DSM2.2
I did a clean install on to the raid6. the CPU loading provided was a testing under condition of running Gallery3 uploading. the httpd and the md2_raid5 would overload the CPU.

DSM3.1
I did a upgrade to DSM3.1. the CPU without the Gallery3 uploading, but the CPU loading was still high around 80% so I rebuild the system using raid10 and the CPU loading is normal idle running about 20%.

Currently, I have itunes server, gallery4, file server, running the CPU loading is about 40%.

Thanks again Alfredo for the FW! :D

The firmware works perfectly for me too running on the RS-406! BIG thanks to Alfredo!

In DSM 3.1, under package manager - I don't see the "Available" tab where I can install packages quickly... Is it not included in 3.1?

I believe that was a feature of 3.2. There's a build out for the CS series, but it has non-functioning status LEDs. It's a pretty experimental build, I can't quite recommend it if you rely on your data.

Hi Alfredo,

Thanks for keeping our 406/406e update.

But I face a problem on 1635. the system time will back to 2000 after a few hour.

Any idea about it?

Thanks

Simon

The clock getting reset is an issue we all saw with an older build of (I believe) DSM 2.3. This should have been fixed a long time ago though and no one has reported it since. So I'm afraid you're the only one as far as I know.

Could you copy the contents of /var/log/messages please? Just the part right before and after the time has been reset.

Looks like a different problem. We used to get this message, with the time going back to 2007:

Mar 29 21:57:44 kernel: synobios_ioctl: Failed to set rtc time
Mar 29 21:57:44 ntpdate: Sync with time server 207.46.232.182 offset 87787709.20 9724 sec.

How long have you been running this firmware and when did the problem start? Perhaps it's a hardware issue (clock battery)?

Just reload the firmware. as I get a damage RAID set. Just replace all HD and load the firmware again. Will try to replace the battery and have a try.

Thanks

Which file is it? The one for the CS406 or CS406e? I'll upload it again.

You realise that the status leds don't work with that firmware, right?

Alfredo can i ask you a question? I use the 1635 firmware for the 406. everytime i reboot the cubestation any torrents i have downloaded and are still active in the BT client reappear where the original download location was, although I have moved them a long time ago. I notticed they don't take up space too. Bit weird don't you think ?

Odd. I've just downloaded the file myself and the checksum matches. How large is the file on your end? It should be 198.215.680 bytes.
If nothing works, send me a PM and I'll upload it to Dropbox for you.

About the torrents, which client are you using? I personally don't like the built-in one, but have good experiences with Transmission. Once you're running DSM 3.2, you should be able to install it with the new package manager. Just add Synocommunity as a custom repository.
