Firmware 2.0-0730 ?

Postby rlvtje » Sun Jan 11, 2009 8:59 pm

While using 0722 firmware I observed several degraded/lost volumes (always disk2) from my DS-207+ Raid1 setup.
From Synology support I received a dedicated ftp address, which pointed to firmware 0730.
which includes a fix around this issue.

At this moment I am downloading the 70Mbyte file over a 1.2Kbyte connection  which is probably limited by Synology
(I am using a glasfiber connection). Anyway after 15hrs I will have it 8) ... but I am wondering why this file isn't
available by another mirror nor any information I could find on this forum.

Anyone got some more info upon 0730 ?

Regards, Edwin

FW files on the support server should only be used if advised by Synology Support Staff. Its not for public use at all.

Hi Harry Potter,

Nice to meet you, but why not ?
Is the release still some kind of beta? If you fix a bug I assume you want to deploy this for all your customers?
By the way, looking to your footnote I see you also use 0730. Will these beta "fixes" also incorporated in 2.1-08xx ??

What is the reason why this "support" server uses such a low bandwidth ? For 8 hours it is fixed at 1.2kByte/seconds and I've
managed to download 35MB, so 50% has been done. Yet another 7 hours to go  I will leave out my personal opinion.

Best regards, Edwin

I guess that they just changed a few issues, but didnt test the bahaviour of this changes on other things I guess. May be also more trial and error.

I use it because I am aware of the risk I take if I install not official released FW versions.

The Support servers isnt that slow normally. It may be due to heavy traffic, intern or extern or other issues.
