Synology launched SqueezeCenter Installation Package

The newly release 0722 firmware made lots of enhancements on such as RAID 6 support, NFS support, more virtual hosts...etc. and some bug fixed from beta of 0702 and 0717.

where did you read this? The synoboxes do not hibernate while SqueezeCenter is running, regardless of the installation mode (SSODS or Synology package)

It is not something a read but something i experienced, see my signature, with that configuration hibernation work very well. In this http://oinkzwurgl.org/ssods_faq#toc28 there is something about this issue. In the previous versoin of SSODS i had to replace INET.pm with a version i found in this thread and then the system hibernated, and from what i can read there is a typo in the new version that prevents hibernation. I can upload a working version of INET.pm if someone like to test this.

Well there are thousands of maybe and perhaps - I never got hibernation to work on my DS-207+ as long as SqueezeCenter is running.

Yes you are right there are many things which can prevent the box in going in standby, but as you can see in this thread its not only me that got it to work. I had to reboot DS after i replaced INET.pm provided by FlipFlop for it to work.

Thanks for the tip.. Replaced the file and rebooted. Will see if that will help.

Here's a additional copy

INET.pm.zip

Anyone having volume issues with this? The volume start at a negative DB and maxing the volume only goes to a positive 0?
Is it possible to correct the volume in a config file somewhere?

That's how it is normally done :)

Quote from Wikipedia:
dB(full scale) — the amplitude of a signal (usually audio) compared to the maximum which a device can handle before clipping occurs. In digital systems, 0 dBFS (peak) would equal the highest level (number) the processor is capable of representing. Measured values are usually negative, since they should be less than the maximum.

I understand that. But I get no sound! The only way to hear mp3's is to max out the volume! Could it be a Softsqueeze/MAC issue?

Yes it is the newest Version

No, the settings wont be stored.

The installation is done into /volume1/@appstore/SqueezeCenter where the SSODS was in /volume1/SqueezeCenter.

I did not even not yet found where the podcasts and the MyRadio station are stored :-(

And I reinstalled SSODS (3.15) and SqueezeCente for testing purposes on my DS-106x, but no hibernation at all (patched INET.pm is included since 3.14)

Maybe there are some people seeing their Synobox hibernate, but as far as I know most do not succeed.

This is a great package. I deinstalled SSODS/SC and installed the package within 15 minutes.

The only annoying thing is that the package's SC interface starts at 9002, whereas the SSODS/SC starts at 9000. The problem with this is that the SoftSqueeze client (even installed from the package) goes to 9000 in stead of 9002.

Perhaps this could be corrected in a newer package version.

Maybe a very stupid question, but with de-installing SSODS/SC nothing from your music files is erased ?

This I did not try, I deinstalled SSODS/SC prior to the package installation. Just saw that its installed in another directory.

no, of course not!
The problem with this is that the SoftSqueeze client (even installed from the package) goes to 9000 in stead of 9002.
But on Softsqueeze you can change the port to 9002 on settings

No, for me nothing is erased. I keep my music files in /volume1/music (obviously) and my playlists in a custom dir called /volume1/samen/playlists ('samen' being Dutch for 'together'). The latter can be managed by every user.

So all I have to do is to install/upgrade, follow the setup screen to set up the dirs mentioned above, have SC scan, reinstall SoftSqueeze (just to be sure I have a corresponding version) and I can hear my music. I must say that I do not have changed other settings, so I cannot tell you if settings for iTunes and so will be maintained (probably not, as the package uses different directories). But no changes to the music.
