Re: Import Certificate
I think this function can be usen for existing certificates only - not for the generation of new certificates...

Re: Import Certificate
How you generate a ssl key
There are many different ways of generate a key for your web server.
1. Buy or download (there are free alternatives) one
2. Use your linux box to generate a self-ssl
3. Create a self-ssl on your windowsbox and then use your web interface to install it
This method should work to generate a key in Windows that you can import to your Synology
1. Open up the and follow the steps on the F.A.Q on http://www.neilstuff.com/apache/apache2-ssl-windows.htm
2. Download an installer from http://www.slproweb.com/products/Win32OpenSSL.html and and follow the steps on the F.A.Q
3. Import the key in your product
I've tried this method on my own 408 and it seems to work.
(I also installed a key by putty but I removed it before so I hope this is the key I'm using
P.S. This not a signed key

Re: Import Certificate
A good tip is to use a free dns or dynamic dns service like dyn-dns to create an A record (dns record) for your IP.
But... Even if you have a domain a self made certificate is not as a real signed one. Firefox and IE will have you to give them an OK for it before you can use it.
In my case I use the Dyn-Dns for my home net @ whopp.mine.nu
