SMB Transfer log won't log downloaded actions

Postby Crokeva » Mon Jan 22, 2018 3:59 pm

Hello,

-----------
DEVICE: RS815RP+
DSM: 6.1.4.-15217 U5 LATEST VERSION
MAXIMUM SMB PROTOCOL : SMB2
MINIMUM SMB PROTOCOL : SMB1

USERS:
- WINDOWS 7 & WINDOWS 10 (MOSTLY WIN 10)
- SYNOLOGY SHARED FOLDERS MAPPED AS NETWORK DRIVE
------------
Problem:
In log center ->logs->file transfer logs it shows only read, write, create, delete but most importnant it wont show when file/folder is downloaded!
It only shows that its downloaded when its downloaded via DS FILE or FILE STATION WEB APP but no SMB?! :?: :!: :!:
We need to keep tracking where our files go and when someone downloads it.
Maybe i need to change from SMB 1 to 3? :?: :?:
Any help or suggestions?

Thanks!!

enable logging in SMB setting of control panel
SMB1 not secure and Win 7 support SMB2. Do SMB2 and SMB3.

It was already enabled and it was logging everything except when someone downloads file/folder
I will switch now from SMB2 to SMB3 and try to see if any changes
