Re: Sickbeard: Failed to run the package service

Change USER "sickbeard" to Root and it all works again. No need to edit anything else Code: Select all edit /var/packages/[PACKAGE NAME]/scripts/start-stop-status change the line that says USER="XXX" to your new user and all done. This worked for me, both during the initial install of 1.0.7 and aga...

Re: Ubiquiti Micro Cam Support

I can confirm that the UVC Micro Camera does indeed work with Surveillance Station. The camera should be running at least firmware version 3.2 and the camera needs to be configured in Standalone mode. For security purposes, I enabled RTSP authentication on the camera which I entered into the User De...

Re: DS 1512+ extremely (!) slow/"disk space is full"

At first glance, I'd say disk #4 in your array is bad and needs to be replaced. Until then, you are going to run into problems. You should look at Storage Manager and see whether this is indeed the case.

Re: When Photo Station is enabled NAS performance is poor

Are you allowing Photo Station to index your files? That will definitely impact your NAS' performance.

Not sure about download station. I haven't used it.

Re: How can I get speeds higher than 15MB/s?

How large are the files you are transferring? Smaller files generally don't saturate your available bandwidth no matter how much tweaking or optimization you employ. If you want to truly test your throughput, use a large file (say, 2GBs at a minimum) as your test subject. This will not only saturate...

Sounds like a niche product to me.

Re: Compatibility with OSX 10.9

Based on the info from the OPs second post, it sounds like he didn't follow Synology's tutorial for Time Machine backups to a Synology NAS. I have three unique OS X 10.8 and 10.9 devices sending backups to my Synology NAS without a problem.

Note: ZoneAlarm and Kaspersky have been known to block the connection between Synology Assistant and your Synology NAS even when the firewall service is disabled. Re: SickBeard: Automatic TV Show Download

Have you guys checked out http://www.synocommunity.com/ ? They have pre-built packages for Sickbeard and SAB that you can install using Package Center. I haven't tried these myself (I already have Sickbeard and SAB running on a MAC) but they are worth a shot.

Re: DS412+ Performance Issues

If you don't mind, I am going to follow this thread intently. I just purchased a 412+ (awaiting a replacement as the first unit was DOA) and I plan on using it for pretty much the same purposes as the OP. My setup won't be as complex, DS412+ and Mac Mini Server connected directly to my ASUS N66U rou...

Re: Crashed Volume how I fixed this

Thank you for posting your experience and how you managed to fix your problem. I find it appalling that Synology support would dismiss you on the basis of the use of 3rd party software, especially considering the cause was due to a configuration issue. If you don't mind me asking, what 3rd party sof...
