Re: RSM accepts Weak ecryption protocol

I am having this issue also. I am able to ssh into the synology router but I can't figure out how to only allow support for TLS 1.2 or higher. I am also failing a PCI check. SynologyRouter> openssl s_server -no_ssl2 Error opening server certificate private key file server.pem 1080345808:error:020010...

Re: TLS 1.2

Thanks. To make sure I understand, were they saying to change SSL Protocol to only allow TLS 1.2 with the below listed code? I didn't know I the router had command line capabilities or am I misunderstanding?

TLS 1.2

I am using this synology router at an office where credit cards are used. The PCI scan is failing because it is running TLS 1.0 and needs to be at least 1.2. Is there a way I can upgrade it? I find it hard to believe they are using 1.0 and not offering a new more secure version.

Re: How to disable router icon in Finder under macOS?

Yes. My guess is that Bonjour is allowing it to be discoverable but not necessarily sharable. You will frequently see other computers and networks in your sidebar if you are near other users or traveling. If you are OCD, it makes it a bit more messy than desired but I searched through Apples forums ...

Re: How to disable router icon in Finder under macOS?

On the synology, look under control panel > storage, and see if you have a shared folder. That could also prompt that.

Re: How to disable router icon in Finder under macOS?

Is file sharing turned on? Go to the control panel and look at AFP, webdav, win/mac share settings. Any potential shared drives/servers/computers will automatically show up in the Mac sidebar. You can go to Finder>Prefs to hide them from the side bar but it does not let you be specific to which ones...

Intrusion Prevention blocking normal website

I am using Intrusion Prevention [IP] on my Synology Router 2600. There are several innocuous websites that I cannot access when IP is turned on. If I turn it off, I can access the websites without issue. I am trying to find out what specific setting do I change to whitelist and allow browsing of a p...

Re: Create admin user

I spoke with Synology reps. When you setup your Synology Router, the default and only admin account is ADMIN. If you do not change that name, then the only admin account is that one. If when you are setting it up, you change that initial name, that becomes the admin account and ADMIN stays but is de...

Create admin user

How do you create a user and give them admin privileges?

I want to deactivate the default admin user named admin and I know how to do that but it won't let you until you have another admin account.

Re: Time Machine (SMB) Failing

I am using Sierra 10.12 in Time Machine stopped working on all my computers also. I am not using the antivirus that has been pointed at before. I also tried the suggestions changing on synology to setting Time Machine as not selected yet, then remounting the Time Machine manually, etc that is posted...

synology to synology remote backup

I have two Synology disk stations at different locations I want to backup to each other. I am connecting to each network through VPN and can access the GUI to each disk station appropriately. I create a new back up to a synology server on a network backup installation and enter the IP address of the...
