Re: Backup iPhone Photos & Videos to Shared Folder

Hi Use Photosync on your Iphone. This is in my opinion the best app to sync your photo’s and videos to any Nas device, another apple device, pc or cloud services. I use the ftp function from the app, works flawless PhotoSync – transfer photos van touchbyte GmbH https://itunes.apple.com/nl/app/photos...

Re: DX513 speeds

hi, I have a 1511+ with 1 DX513 and 1 DX510. Never had any problems reaching + 100MB/s speeds on any of the 3 units, untill I installed DSM 6.0 and onwards. With DSM 6.x installed, speeds on the 1511+ are good, but speed on the DX513 and DX510 is very erratic. Readspeed goes from max 60MB/s to max 1...

Re: what is "root" user's password?

Synology has obfuscated the root user in some way. I too would like to at least "change" the root password, as a basic, fundamental security measure. I doubt the possibility is going to be revealed. Apparently all the busybox password commands I know have been disabled or obfuscated somehow: http:/...

Re: Performance issues DS1511+ (inconsistent read speeds)

I downgraded to firmware 5.2, problems gone. Upgraded again to 6.0 to test but problems were back instantly. I went back to firmware 5.2 and I NEVER had the problem again ... Awesome. Do you have instructions for this process? Hi, I succesfully used the method described in this forumpost; https://f...

Re: Performance issues DS1511+ (inconsistent read speeds)

I got this note from Synology support yesterday: We are currently monitoring an issue related to monitoring widgets and tools within DSM potentially affecting disk I/O. You can try disabling all DSM widgets and testing performance again without any instance of DSM in a browser loaded on any clients...

Re: Performance issues DS1511+ (inconsistent read speeds)

I'm having a similar issue. Please confirm if you're nmbd service restarting over and over. SSH into your box, and do a tail -f on the /var/log/samba/log.nmbd file. Then start a file copy (at least 500mb) down to your desktop. You'll see Got SIGTERM: going down messages occurring over and over. You...

Re: Performance issues DS1511+ (inconsistent read speeds)

hi, Had the same problem with my DS1511+ with DX510 and DX513 expansion. The problems started after upgrading from DSM 5.2 to 6.0, and I could never resolve the problems. Streaming media and copy performance was very erratic. The solution to my problems was downgrading the firmware to 5.2. After I d...
