Re: getting internet through USB tethering

That quotation is for a synology router, but you are looking for accomplishing this via a synology router, is that correct? You might have to get a wifi dongle for the NAS, and connect it to a wifi hotspot on your phone. No, my router is a linksys wrt54gl, not synology. Was hoping that by just conn...

Re: getting internet through USB tethering

I'm trying to understand what you say in order to do this. When you say to connect DDWRT to the hotspot ( I assume turning my phone into a hotspot), I don't think I can do that, WRT54GL has no way to connect to other hotspots. Only it can be one by turning the radio on. I think... I found this: http...

Re: getting internet through USB tethering

So do I have to get this setup through my router? Isn't synology communicating directly with the tethered phone that's connected via USB to the back of Synology?

getting internet through USB tethering

I am currently in a place that does not have internet. I want to use my USB tethering from my phone to be able to give synology internet access. Synology is connected to my router via ethernet cable (router is WRT54GL using DD-WRT), but obviously the router has no internet since it's not available a...

Why am I forced to have CloudStation folder??? Help

I just formatted my computer recently. I had an older Synology Cloud station 3.1 but that was now to old so I had to upgrade. I downloaded the latest one, now called "drive" as well, 4.104224. Well, with this thing I am *forced* do have an extra folder called \CloudStation. Why? I had 3 separate sha...

Synology didn't enter Safe Mode.

I recently had a power outtage and I had my Synology DS (DiskStation) set to enter Safe Mode after 5 minutes. Luckly I was at home and I noticed after about 15 minutes that Synology DS is still running. I have it setup so that DS shuts down the UPS when it enters safe mode, so it was pretty obvious ...

Re: Max File System Size

According to the Spec sheet located here http://global.download.synology.com/download/Document/DataSheet/DiskStation/13-year/DS413j/Synology_DS413j_Data_Sheet_enu.pdf the DS413j can accept up to 4x4TB drives. As maxxfi mentioned, according to Synology compatibility calculator the DS413j is compatib...

Max File System Size

I own the DS413j In the specs it says: Max File System Size: 16TB, Max Internal Volume #: 128, Does this mean a volume can only be 16TB maximum? If I install 4 6TB HDD's (The DS413j is compatible with 6TB's as per the compatibility sheet), does it mean instead of 18TB (using SHR) my volume will only...

Re: Modify package file

Thanks. Used SSH to login. Took me quite a while to find where transmission holds it's package folder, until saw @appstore holds all packages there. Then learned a bit of vi (and SSH navigation commands) and managed to modify my settings file.

Modify package file

Hello. I am trying to modify a config file for Transmission 2.84-10 client downloaded from synocommunity package via the DSM package.

settings.json

How can I access it? Must it be done via SSH or can I do it via the DSM GUI?

Transmission user/pass

Running version 2.84-10. When I had to upgrade to this version (old version wasn't working anymore) I had to pick a username/password. It's being asked everytime I open transmission web window (ipaddresshere /transmission/web) Now I have no idea how to change/disable this. Where can I find the setti...
