Re: Cloud Sync stopping after a while

Same problem for me. It seems a large backlog of files to sync causes the program to choke. I tried stopping, then restarting the application, but it just sits there saying "Connecting..." I can Pause the app, then Connect again, and the icon says it's syncing but that only lasts a few minutes, then...

Re: Data Replicator or Cloud Station

Would not recommend Cloud Station. It is unreliable. I do not play with my DS settings, all I do is keep everything updated. Well, I did an update, and it ruined Cloud Station and my data. Never again. I am not the only user with bad Cloud Station experiences, if you read the forums. Strangely enoug...

Re: 99% High CPU Usage (Process upnpd)

I have the exact same problem, it just appeared after many months of no problems at all. And I have media server turned off, as I don't need it. Update: I just upgraded to the latest DSM 4.2-3211 and it got better. The upnpd is now 'sleeping'. The only thing I did was update the DSM, no other change...

Re: SickBeard: Automatic TV Show Download

My experiences with installing Sickbeard (SB) and Sabnzbd (SAB) I am posting this to hopefully help others with their installations. Although I have used Linux before, I don't program, so this is from the standpoint of a relative newbie. These are just my observations from trying to get everything w...

Re: Windows cannot access \\DISKSTATION

I had the same problem, it was the firewall. When the upgrade is done to DSM 3.0 the upgrade will turn on your firewall even though it was inactive prior to the upgrade. I guess this is a little test from the Synology folks to see if we're on our toes.

Re: Problem accessing Synology DS210j via Windows Explorer

Check the firewall setting in the DS210j. If it is turned on, the default firewall settings will prevent connection to your shared folders. Simply turn off the firewall and save the setting. If you are using a router (which has its own firewall), you do not need to use the Synology firewall.

Re: Access the unit via \\hostname

When upgrading to DSM 3.0 one of the things that is done during the upgrade is the firewall will by default, be activated, even though it may have been in its "turned off" state prior to the upgrade. New users who have performed the upgrade will not be aware the firewall has been turned on during th...
