Re: File station does not open

This issue resolved for me when I updated to DSM 4.0-2228. Actually i think it was one update before this one, but it works now. I didn't change anything. All my port forwarding and permissions where working before upgrading to DSM 4.0 the first time.

Thank you Synology.

Re: File station does not open

Hey guys. I'm having the same issue running File Station on my DS1010+. I login from my laptop and click on file station and I see the rotating loading donut and that's where it stays. I can click it multiple times and it will try to load other instances of file station, but with the same results. M...

Re: Wrong DDNS link shown in notification email

I used to use no-ip as my DDNS service, so my online photo album's address was:

Same thing here. Were you able to resolve this?

Re: Admin User Renaming

Good idea! I thought about this the other day when I was checking my logs and saw that another IP had been blocked.

The user name they were trying was Administrator.

admin is way too common.

Re: login does not work

Just in case anyone cares...After I installed the latest Java, I still got the error. Luckily I was able to figure it out. My fix was as follows. Let me know if it worked for you. In IE... Click "Tools", "Internet Options". Select the "Security" tab. Under the "Select a zone to view or change securi...

Same here. Re: Mapped Drive asking for Password

Hi everyone, I hope you've all solved your problem by now but if not, here's tidbit inspired by Franklin. I had the same issue and I finally figured out that my computer's username was different from the logon name I clicked during logon. Changing my username in the User Accounts program from the Co...

Re: AudioStation && Streaming && FLAC

In the DSM 3.1 AudioStation on my DS1010+, there is a settings button. Within the settings box there is a Transcoder tab. Check the Enable Transcoders box and move the bullet to the mp3 format setting for better compatibility. I use this and it works like a dream. Hope this helps.

Re: Mapping over Internet // Not via local network

MS, I've been looking into this myself and I agree with Mr Potter. WebDAV sounds like it's the way to go. However, I'm worried about what security issues this may introduce to my network. What I want to do is to map a network drive on my parent's PC over the internet to the pictures on my NAS. I jus...

Re: No loginscreen @ IE8

I ended up just changing the login screen type. Obviously, I had to login from a different PC. Once you login, go to Control Panel, DSM Settings, then choose one of the options with the bar across the screen. I hope this helps you. :)

Re: No loginscreen @ IE8

Gerard, Same problem here. :( I'm running an older laptop (Gateway MX6426) with XP Media Center Edition. Also on IE 8 with all available windows updates installed. Gfx card is a 200M. Seems like a gfx processor compatability issue to me. I could be way off base though. This laptop is old but hasn't g...

Re: Itunes Setup always looses shared folder reorganises

map DiskStation (iTunes folder) as a local network drive I believe he means you need to open a folder such as "my documents", click tools, then map network drive. Set your DS share (\\DiskStation\music for example) to some drive letter (for example M: for music). Make sure you click the "connect us...
