Re: Any suggestion for DTV dongle for DS218+?

I will try few tests like you suggested, however searching the internet I could find few examples of Fritzbox dub-c added as adapter in tvheadend, via the network. One in German, one in English. https://ole-hellmers.de/2017/10/tvheadend-mit-der-fritzbox-6490/ https://blag.nullteilerfrei.de/2017/08/0...

Re: Any suggestion for DTV dongle for DS218+?

yes, it is a 4K receiver box, but it has a dvb-c or dvb-s card in it. I use to have a usb dvb-c box also with a dvb card in it. One is connected to the computer running tvheadend with a network cable, the other with a usb cable. I was assuming I will be able to connect to the VU over the LAN and see...

Re: Any suggestion for DTV dongle for DS218+?

Hi guys, I am looking to purchase a 218+, and I like to use it with VU uno 4k, on dvb-c. I am posting here because I see there is a lot of knowledge in this thread on how to make working hardware not directly supported by synology. I was able to export an m3u from the VU box , that is working, but I...

Re: Rt2600 File Station limitations

Yes, if you use a computer, you can connect to your Router and to your Device and transfer files Device->Computer->Router, and the transfer speed will get a hit with the computer between. What I like to do is to mount the Device directly in the Router File Station (FTP, SMB, or whatever), and transf...

Rt2600 File Station limitations

I noticed on the router File Station, Tools menu is no option to add other Ftp, sftp servers available on the LAN. Is this correct? On a synology NAS File Station it is possible to add any sever available on the LAN and transfer files between computers or Nas devices, even you can use the File Stati...

Shared folder on NAS

at this time seems to be a problem with attached USB hdd not going to sleep even with hibernation turned on. I was wondering if it is possible to add a folder from my synology nas as shared folder and to use it to save monitoring logs?

Re: RT2600 secure router access from internet

Sorry for the late answer, I was traveling abroad and use the occasion to do some more tests and readings in this forum. With all four check marks on Deny, I was able to access my home LAN through the VPN only adding some firewall rules to allow the VPN subnet to access all. Scany is an app for iPho...

Re: RT2600 secure router access from internet

I guess I have to get use with it, still I think the four check marks at the bottom of the Firewall page are confusing because they override the firewall rules above. I made some tests running Scany and NetStatus from my phone not connected to the same WiFi. I have only the few standard ports for VP...

Re: RT2600 secure router access from internet

@Yaki This will open SRM ports 8000 and 8001 to the internet, isn't it? @Babylonia With this Synology departure from the classic port forwarding and introduction of firewall rules things look definitely more complicated and not sure is really more secure. Anyway they give me an unsecure feeling of n...

RT2600 and HP6500a Plus printer

Hi guys, was somebody successful to WiFi connect rt2600 router with the HP6500a Plus printer?
The printer cannot find the router WiFi, however it can find all my neighbors wifi networks. Tried entering SSID, also Wps.
Thanks

Re: RT2600 secure router access from internet

Well, not for me.
I connect through L2TP, I can access all other devices in the LAN, but when I try 192.168.1.1, which is the default LAN router ip, I get nothing, server not resounding. Any idea?

Re: RT2600 secure router access from internet

before getting this rt2600, I used the VPN from my DiskStation, OpenVPN or L2TP, to connect from abroad to my home LAN. The DS was on the LAN, behind the router and I had only the VPN related ports forwarded on the router. Once the VPN was established, I could connect to the DS and other servers in ...

RT2600 secure router access from internet

Hi guys,
Is there a way to securely access the router interface (login screen) and settings over the internet? I have a fix IP address.
I don't want to use DDNS services.

Thanks

Re: RT2600 OpenVPN server with own RSA keys

Hi, still one item unclear for me. If we exclude the Intermediate Certificate in the Import Certificates window, than is left to import only two items: one key and one certificate. But in your posting above you have one key and two certificates: - private.key - certificate.crt - Comodo_3x-bundle.crt...

Re: RT2600 OpenVPN server with own RSA keys

Thanks Babylonia for detailed info. Just to make sure I understood, in Synology terms the Intermediate certificate is the root CA certificate?
