Browser uploading does not work with Safari...

I've given a friend an account on Photo Station, so that he can upload photos to it. Here's what happens: - He navigates to a folder he has permissions to - He clicks "Upload" - In the Upload dialogue, he must click "Browse" to select the files on his computer - Nothing happens W...

Re: PS3 Photo icon - why does it show me Videos and Music too?

Thanks, Taxman. It's not the answer I was hoping to get, but frankly it's what I was expecting.

I wondered about experimenting with the menu layout options in the DiskStation Manager, but it's hard to see what "iPod style", for instance, would mean on a PS3.

Re: nfs

I'm on 10.5.8, maybe that's the difference? Sorry I can't be more helpful.

PS3 Photo icon - why does it show me Videos and Music too?

If I go to the video section of my PS3, then scroll down to my Syno box, I get three folders - "Music" "Video" and "Photos".

WTH?

I'm already in the video section. Why am I not just presented with the contents of the video folder?

Re: Super Slow NFS Speed with NAS

Try forgetting about the UPnP server and just mount your Synology volumes via NFS on your PCH-A110. This is what I do - with no hard drive in the PCH, and no gigabit switch - and it works fine, even for large hi-def videos.

Re: Which protocol to use?

Hi aluff - I've been using NFS on Leopard for a couple of years now and it works fine. I originally started using it because of hibernation issues with the other protocols. Now I just use it out of habit. The only issue I've had is that Photostation and the Media Server don't update their indexes wh...

Re: automatic uPnP index refreshing?

Hi GNaschenweng, This looks like exactly what I need, but I can't get it to work! First I had the logging problem mentioned on your site, so I commented out all the lines about logging. Then I got this message: thething> perl update-syno.sh /volume1/video WARNING: nonstandard use of \\ in a string l...

Exibit -think about this for a moment.

If the Disk Station is powered off... how can you communicate with it?

Re: NFS+PhtoStation3+thumbnails

It appears this is still an issue. Photos copied via NFS are not indexed.

Because I connect to my DS via NFS, this means I have to do a manual re-index every time I add photos (several times a week). Painful.

Re: Let's try NFS instead

Er actually yes I meant to say "Cmd-Shift-G" for Go to Folder. The NFS mounts can be finicky. Maybe delete the mounts in Directory Utility (or is it Disk Utility now, in Snow Leopard?), turn off NFS on your Synology, errr reboot it maybe?? and redo them. It did end up working on mine and I...

Re: Which protocol to use?

NFS works for just about everything. See the thread "let's try NFS" for details on how to get it working. The main thing I like about NFS on my Mac is that my Synology goes to sleep properly and only wakes up if it's needed. With Samba and AFP my disks are spinning up and down all the time...

Re: Let's try NFS instead

Did you then do Cmd-K and type "/Volumes/public" and hit Enter?

You have to connect like this if you want to access these shares through the Finder, they won't just show up in the sidebar (sadly).

Agreed.

It would be nice to at least have the same functionality as the web interface.
