Synology Itunes Server to Support ID3tag

I think this something a lot of users would appretiate that use the itunes server. It seems silly that Synology dosen't support the ID3tag but advertises the fact that it has an itunes server. If ID3tag would be supported then it would help in displaying cover art etc from any of the Synology NAS un...

Re: Connecting TV directly to a Syno NAS

Reading the reviews of the Samsung LN46A750 it seems that the Samsung dosen't support third party DNLA servers. So it's not Synology's fault. The bad: Expensive; clear plastic layer on frame conducts distracting light; red color isn't for everyone; shiny screen reflects ambient room lighting; some a...

Re: What is the best multimedia solution for Popcorn ???

You will get a lot better service with an internal HDD fitted (even if it is a small one) Upnp is virtually unacesable with any Synology but NFS is lots better. There are many apps that will suit your needs its better that you look here:- http://www.networkmediatank.com to find out more.

Re: Connecting TV directly to a Syno NAS

On the DLNA.org list major TV suppliers are listed like the likes of Sony, Panasonic, etc etc. Most of these manufacturers have things in the pipeline for 2009. I know that Sony have an add on but only available in the US. Which is a Youtube AOL MSN and weather service. Some of the manufacturers may...

Re: What about the "degradation"-problem in CS407

Franklin,

Do you know if there is the same issue with Raid 0 as opposed to Raid 5 on the CS-407. What I mean to say is is there just an issue with Raid 5, X07 models and primarily 11th Gen Drives.
Just looking to convert to Raid 0 and not so much worried about the Data as it is backed up.

Re: What about the "degradation"-problem in CS407

I have had a degradation issue also with my CS-407 on Raid 5 using the drives below in my sig. I was converting from a "Normal" setup to Raid and at the time I only had 2 drives. I had placed an order for 2 more drives and received one straight away (Slot 3). The conversion went fine. No p...

Re: NAS + WD TV

I seem to recall on another forum somewhere that this is possibly based around the Popcorn Hour devices and uses Network Media Tank Firmware. My guess is that if it has a USB port then like popcorn hour it may recive by a Wifi USB Dongle.

Updtae:- Ok so all is done.. I know have drive 1,2,3 & 4 now on Raid 5 and on volume 2. There is no Volume 1 as this was on Disk 1 which was converted to Raid 5 after all the data was transfered to the raid array. I still want to use the Multimedia service i.e Photo / Video / Music folders but d...

Re: Any add soft needed to steam video directly from 107 to PS3?

First of all the DS107 carries just the one HDD Drive. When you enable multimedia option on it you will get 3 folders of Video / Music & Photo's. Put the relative files in the relative folders. Sit back and search for servers in the PS3 XMB. Then go to Video, select your DS207, choose your file ...

Normal - Raid Volume Clarification

I'm looking to change my normal volumes to raid so that I can make use of one big disk rather than seperate volumes per drive. I have 2 drives in my CS-407 at the moment and another on the way. What I am intending to do is manage all the data from the 2 drives in the CS-407 to one drive. Insert the ...
