Re: Timezone

I did fix it but I can't remember how. I think it had something to do with changing the permissions, relaxing the file-locking settings. There are only two of us with access, and I just made sure my colleague knew there might be odd results if we ever both try to edit the same ticket at the same tim...

Re: File access loggin

Not expecting a username. Don't get that for SMB either - just the IP address of the client device.

File access loggin

I turned on logging under the File Sharing "SMB" control panel page and it's logging every access to files via SMB from Windows clients. Perfect. BUT. It doesn't log access to the files via the DNLA server process. So I deduce, that doesn't count as SMB access. What *does* it count as, and can that,...

Re: Survey Stn / recycle bin / auto empty not working

My biggest issue is the Surveillance Station folders - SS deletes old recordings to make room for new ones, but it doesn't make room if the old vids are only recycle-binned. I have to manually empty the bin about once a month or it fills up!

Re: Foscam C1 not installable

Returned it as not suitable. Seems I could probably have made it work if I had a computer lying around that still supported ActiveX. Maybe. Not worth the hassle frankly. Pity, the hardware is nice, picture quality and sound good. But given they have a good little camera, why can't they take the time...

Re: Foscam C1 not installable

OK - after much tinkering i CAN get it working in Foscam's supplied "ipcam client" and on my phone - and both at the same time!!! But still can't log in to the webGUI at all nor can I get S-Stn to talk to it.

Foscam C1 not installable

Disappointed. Looking for a low end camera for a small job, everyone seemed to be suggesting Foscam so I bought a C1 - has the features I need and none that I do not. Except - you can't access it's web GUI because it keeps saying you need to load some add-ins - even if you've loaded them. (Tried Fir...

Timezone

We're having problems with Osticket, and the fora related to that suggest the problem is caused by a discrepancy between the timezone settings for all the elements of the system (osticket, webserver, mysql, php, etc). I assumed that running on a Syno box these would all be in sync. But as soon as I ...

Survey Stn / recycle bin / auto empty not working

I have set up a Scheduled Task to Empty All Recycle Bins, to clear away the older purged video recordings once Surveillance Station has deleted them to stay within its allotted space. Problem is, the scheduled delete doesn't happen. I don't know if it starts on time but fails to delete the relevant ...

Re: Surveillance Station Plugin

OK so digging deeper it looks like the answer is "use the Desktop Client". Why they couldn't have popped up a message in the web control panel saying "please install the desktop client" rather than just leaving it so we're staring at a "can't load" error with no clues as to why - would've been nice.

Re: Firefox plugin not working

Firefox v52 "Removed support for Netscape Plugin API (NPAPI) plugins other than Flash." https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/52.0/releasenotes/ So basically there's only IE now for running SS, and what happens when that one drops off? Seems like Syno need to buck up and modernise the SS system to ...

Re: Firefox plugin not working

Hmm. Running it up on another PC< I see that the S-S Plugin *is* listed in the Firefox add-ons list, so on the broken one, something is clearly wrong at Firefox level, I don't know how to fix that - I can't remove the plugin coz it doesn't show on the list of installed plugins. I've tried re-install...

Hmm. I see Shockwave Flash add-in has been updated in the last 24 hours. Does this affect Surveillance Station?

Firefox plugin not working

The machine I ususally use to manage S-S this morning I found Firefox had crashed. This is not totally uncommon, I just clicked "re-start" and it fired up again as usual. But this time it would NOT load "live view" or "timeline" - it says "download and install plugin". I re-downloaded - no change. S...

Logging file access (Media Server)

Can I log when (and who, or, at least, which device) accesses files via the media server?

I turned on logging in File Station but clearly that doesn't log access to files via other processes as nothing has appeared!

Media Server control panel doesn't appear to offer any logging options.

Cheers.
