What does using PHP and MySQL offer?

PHP is a programming language used for developing server-side applications and dynamic web content. It allows interaction with relational database management systems, such as MySQL, which is a Structured Query Language Database Management System.

With knowledge in PHP programming, interactive applications can be developed for use on the Synology product, such as accounting, calendars, blogs, bulletin boards, or even Wiki-based databases. Given the open source nature of PHP, there are many free applications for the aforementioned types which are available on the Internet for download, one popular site sourceforge.net. These applications can be downloaded from Internet and then integrated to operate on the Synology server.
