Mods that don't work

This page is to list the mods that don't work on a Synology Server. It could be argued it is as important to know what doesn't work so you don't spend ages trying to do something just to find you have wasted your time.

NOTE: This page is not for users with problems to post half finished mods that they couldn't get to work, hoping for help, the forum is for that.

Please state the model and firmware version in any posts as firmware changes may enable functionality that previously was disabed/removed.

Samba Mods

CS407 fw598 - The Samba vfs modules have been removed. Consequently things like samba recycle bin and virus scanner cannot be used.

Prompt Mods

CS407 fw598 - The command prompt does not support dynamic updating using bash prompt escape codes. Consequently you can't have it display the current directory, current user, etc. It only supports static configuration at the time the PS1 value is set, normally when the $HOME/.profile file is read
