It has been almost a year since the first post on this topic, and 4 months since the last.

Has anyone found a fix for this? This is so frustrating because I am receiving the connection the lost/resumed connection emails, about 6 sets a day.

Hi everyone,
First, sorry for my English, I'm french...!

I would like to dig out this topic :
I'm currently receiving about 6 or 8 emails a day from ddns synology support :
my ddns connection has been lost.

30 minutes or 1 hour after this email, my connection is OK and I receive a new email from ddns synology support...

I do not understand the problem.
Do you have any information or any guidance !!!

I have been having the same issue since yesterday.

I'm assuming they are having a server problem since it's affecting a few of us.

Loosing connection to DDNS

The last couple of days I have been getting numerous emails from my Diskstation. It seems to loose connection then reestablishes connection...

The emails just say the connection has been lost...and then it has been resumed.
Here is my inbox from last night:

The time stamp on the above emails is:
3:24am
3:21am
2:02am
1:50am
12:40am
12:31am
11:29pm

I dont think my internet service it dropping out...any ideas on what is going on or how to troubleshoot this?

Hi every one,
Since a couple a days, I do not receive messages from ddns server anymore...
It seems that was an issue with ddns provider !
May be some synchro tests ?

If you have this kind trouble, wait for a couple of days (about a week), and you should not be disturbed anymore...

I have DS112, using !?!.diskstation.me, last update of FW (i will check the version as soon as i can connect) and cannot remotely connect to đisk.

Also my ds try to send 0.0.0.0 as ip address 3-4 times a day (from the day that i connected it), and obviously failed. This went up to 20-30, with true ip as well, in the last 3 days.

UPDATE 1:
I have DSM 4.2-3211 2031/04/16
With a lot of trouble finally connected to ds, stoped everything (except syslog and antivirus essential), ran antivirus and reset it. Nothing is better.
When ds is "lost" i cannot connect to it even on IP. I can ping both name and IP, the time of ping is just crazy up and down from 50 - 1050.

UPDATE 2:
I turned it off for about 3 day. On suday i turned it back on, and it worked fine (still everything turned off). In 2 days i had 59 errors (dns faild to register both 0.0.0.0 and my IP).
On monday i connected to DS with my android tablet - "DS file". It worked for half an hour or so, then just got message WEBDAV not started, or somthing like that.
It is just the same as before i turned it off.

Yes, I have a 212j running DSM 4.2-3211 and get these messages every day, some days I get a huge amount of them (20 in one day) and am using Synology for my DDNS server and Verizon FIOS for my IP. This is really frustrating, and only seemed to start happening about a month ago for me.

I have the same issues with a 213+ but i''m suspecting power saving, it seems twice after activating the ds the registration comes back again. I have disabled hibernate of the ds as a test to see how this goes.

There is a patch for this from Synology - request support regarding this 0.0.0.0 issue and they will send you the patch.
I just installed it.

I believe we have 2 issues, 1 being the mail from your DS it cannot register local using ip 0.0.0.0 which seems a problem
Resolving your public ip. The other is the mail from the ddns service from synology saying they have not seen your ds for a while. This seems a issue when the ds is in sleep it does not update ddns, since I disabled sleep I have not seen the error. I will request a patch for the 0.0.0.0 error.

I've had this problem on and off using QuickConnect and myds.me for finding the Synology. I believe it is a problem with Synology's service going down and up, as it seems to resolve on its own after a while, and I can address it immediately by switching to static IP or FQDN.

If there is a status page for myds / QuickConnect I've not yet found it... if there is one, please reply!
