That's a bit weird. I only have one camera but three SSD processes.

If you dop down to 1 camera, do you get one or three SSD processes?

Ok, number of SSD processes matches with number of active cameras.

After the first upgrade from DSM2.2 to DSM2.3, number of SSD processes was amazing : 6 to 10 processes for only 3 cameras ! That took my NAS out !
It's for this reason that I made a complete reinstall (with formating HD).

But for me, on a DS109 to, each process actually uses 8-12% of CPU. With 3 cams, NAS is always around 30% CPU use !
I'm gonna verify the model of my third camera.

Interestingly on 7 cameras my cpu usage hovers just below 20%
note 6 of my cameras or using mjpeg with camera doing motion detection.

just wondering if anyone has tried 1141 and if that fixes your camera issues, or is it just a fix for memory issues.

Steve, thanks for the heads-up on the release of the 1141 patch. It seems to have fixed some of the issues, but not all of them. My cameras are now showing up in camera tab (previously all I would see here was an "X" where the image thumbnails should be). Live view is still an issue... my cameras are showing up but the image flashes continuously. Recording seems to be hit and miss as well, though I haven't been able to fully test all of my cameras. So far, of my six Panasonic cameras (5 different models), it would seem my DS is not recording anything from my BL-C111A.

Steve,
I just got a new Synology (DS410) and installed 2.3-1141 on it and I am still experiencing the same problems in Safari (again - in Firefox I get intermittent picture and black screen flashing about every 0.5 seconds)...I have submitted a support ticket on the Synology website.

I Have 3 Panasonic cameras BL-C121 , BB-HCM735 and NW-NS202.
I have 3 SSD on monitor of DS210j with DS 2.3 1141.

Surveilance station 4 is very unstable!
BLC-121 is ok.
BB-HCM735 is running with BLC-121 driver because there is no driver for it. Right now in MPEG4 he looses comunication every 4 minutes. Is always recording!

NW-NS202 is running with BLC-20 Driver because there is no driver for it! Until 5 minutes ago was ok.
I changed Post recording time from 20 sec to 30 seconds and nightmare starts! Now he never records!

By the way, anyone knows the best suitable drivers for BB-HCM735 and NW-NS202?

I recently updated by DS107+ with the new firmware 2.3-1141 and I still having the same issues with surveillance station. With the surveillance station enabled the diskstation's performance has degraded to the point that I have trouble accessing my files, mail, pics and music - foreced to disable to get the DS working.... Contacted support on this issue and sent my data log but have not gotten any response. Looking at purchasing a Qnap system if not resolved quickly.... Also notice recording is hit or miss - mostly miss. Thought it was my cameras and kept adjusting the motion detection settings.

I have 209j which was on the latest 2.2 and I have recently updated to 2.3-1141 without any use of Beta.
I am having problems with (I think) one of my two cameras which I didn't have on 2.2. One camera says "Disconnected" but the thumbnail is fine but I can't "Live View" this camera - I get unavailable on IE8 and an X on DScam (well done on the iPhone development by the way - great idea). My cameras are setup as SparkLAN CAS-335W using MJPEG.
I think Motion detected recording is only partly working - overall it seems a bit flaky at the moment.
I hope I won't have to do a major restet etc!!!

Well I have only two cameras running on my DS.
And I have 22 ssd processes running, that cant be normal.

I am using dscam and was actually wondering if it is using another process when loggin in, and the ds "forget" to shut down the process when dscam is shutdown ?

Below is screenshot from top.

Hmm, just noticed this in the very last minute, the process mpeg4live (the very bottom) is that a process running when you have mpeg cameras enabled ? Because both mine are running MJPEG.

I telnetted into the 'volume1' directory on my NAS and noticed that there are 63 files called @ssd.core.

They all have slightly different names and filesizes, e.g.

-rw------- 1 root root 102391808 Aug 3 2009 @ssd.core.4323
-rw------- 1 root root 32980992 Apr 26 2009 @ssd.core.4186

I also noticed a file called:

-rw------- 1 root root 11759616 Jan 24 01:04 @get_motionvalue.core

Presumably these are all Surveillance Station files.

Does anyone know why I have so many of these files, and if it's ok to delete them?

Has anyone heard from Synology regarding a fix for this issue?

I've just had a look at mine and don't seem to have any of these files...

however all your files seem pretty old and I did recently do a complete re-install

I have update my DS 408 firmware from DSM 2.1 to DSM 2.3. - 1141.
Before that Surveillance Station worked fine with my Panasonic BL C111CE.
After the firmware update my camera is reported to be disconnected and I can't have it connected again.
In Edit Settings mode the software gets stuck / dies whenever I try to save the changed settings.
Camera testing fails.

The camera works fine however when accessing it directly through any browser.

Seems to me that Synology corp. has an issue to be solved rather urgently, instead of having all of us customers struggling.

Can't we get a quick fix release using a previous Surveillance station version?
