Slow relay through Mail Station

Postby craig » Sat Feb 27, 2010 5:47 pm

I have a really strange issue where any message sent to an email account on my DS1010+ will receive it almost immediately. However, when one tries to forward an email or relay through the Mail Station it can take several minutes to hours before the recipient receives it.

The only modifications made to the Mail Station main.cf file include:

1) multiple domains in ""mydestination = domain1.com, domain2.com

2) "relayhost = smtp.comcast.net"

This seemed to work fine on my ds209+

All settings in Mail Station congiuration are set "yes" and max mail size is 50MB.

Thanks in advance for your help.

You checked the logs to verify the time when the email has been processed by Postfix (Mailstation) and sent to external servers? Maybe the email left your mailstation in time but a server on the way to the receiver had issues

Once I upgraded to the latest firmware, DSM2.3 - 1139, all appears good. The delivery of mail to both domains is virtually instantaneous.

Very Strange...
