I enabled telnet and got more information:
Code: Select all
DiskStation login: root
Password:
login: cannot run /opt/bin/bash: No such file or directory
Connection closed by foreign host.

I had changed my default shell to bash thanks to ipkg. :(

how to fix this?

Yesssss I was able to fix it.

Installed a 3rd party package Config File Editor:

http://www.mertymade.com/syno/#cfe

From there I added /etc/passwd to the list of files to edit.

Changed my root shell back to /bin/sh

and BAM I can now ssh back into my machine :)
