Hey can anyone assit me with being able to remotely access my DS409+ I have it populated with four 1T western digital HD's. Running raid 5. It is attached to a airport extreme router. I have a static IP address and set up port forwarding but still no success. Can someone walk me through the setup process?

Did you try really from outside? most router cant handle loopbacks so dont test remote access just entering the external IP within LAN.

In addition to HP's suggestion (first one to consider): did you perhaps try to connect to services on your network/syno from within a company network. In that case that firewall might block pretty much all traffic in most cases except for port 80 and 443.
