Hey syno.allen

syno.allen wrote:So you can browse the music titles according to menu structure without problems but when start playing some mp3s, it refused to work and some indeed work ? Is it possible to submit the problemic mp3 file to us ?

This is correct, some have always played and some have not... i guess its the audio player that cant deal with certain codecs... i shall submit the file where should i submit it to?

syno.allen wrote:I believe there might be some settings in MP101 to affect the lines of LCD display insead of server. The media server has no way to control the player LCD.

I can understand what your stating, and i would agree with you that the device is responsable for the display.
However.. like i say.. it's changed the way it displays the data on the LCD.
It's since DSM 2.2 moving from uPnP to DLNA... sadly i don't have a photo of the original way the player displayed the data.

Very strange indeed

EDIT: @synology, i've managed to find before & after pictures

I have now found that via USB stick the Bravia will play .m2ts files. However I still get no files avaialble from the DS209 ??

Do I need to change mime types for teh Bravia ?

Could we have a forum topic for each major tv type and how to get it to work ?

thanks,
Seedar.

The video files must be put under video shared folder or its sub folders in DS209. Can you browse any video files like .mpg or .m2ts ? Can you browse the directory structure of Video Shared folder in TV ?

All tracks have data that displays on all lines of the display, it's happening with every track... like i say i play alot of the same stuff... and it's all gone onto the same line of the LCD
I have no idea what the track was to be honest, i just let it run on random.

Thanks for the quick response Syno.allen

Much appreciated :D

No, when I select "video" (from the music, photo, video menu) I get no files available or similar message. Photos and Music work fine and I do have mpg and m2ts files in the video directory.

Looks like an indexing problem. If the reindexing is still not working, please contact beta support and provide remote access information such that we can collect more information about this.

EDIT: According to the DLNA certificate in dlna.org, the Sony Bravia 40Z5500 does not support videos through DLNA. I guess the z5500 limits playing videos through USB.

Thanks I wilkl remove my large photo library and try tr-indexing as I think it had issues.

Your certificate re DLNA certification was for the 40Z4500 which indeed did not support video but the Z5500 series is certainly promoted as supporting video via DLNA.

EDIT: Also I have got a message from someone else saying they have successfully played video via DLNA onto a W5500 series bravia which should be essentially the same.

I think I found the wrong link of certifcate. The certificate for z5500 is here and actually support mepg videos.

I have deleted all photos and all music and have one .m2ts video file in /video and reindexed and restarted the server.

Still the tv shows "There are no items to display"

Hi Seedar:
I am not sure if the z5500 understand the file extension m2ts using DLNA. If renaming to .mpg still not works, please contact beta support.

DSM 2.2 m4a support for AudioStation Playback still missing

Postby hglathe » Tue Jul 28, 2009 11:23 pm

Hi

I've uploaded an m4a audio file to the test instance http://demo.synology.com:5000

But the AudioStation WebPlayer still marks m4a files as unsupported format (red exclamation mark).

Perhaps it is possible to support AAC/m4a files via Audio Station via WebAccess with the upcomming Firmware release?

I have two brand new Sony Bravia3 TV sets: a W5500 series and a WE5 series. Both fail to display .m2ts files in any video subfolder (.mpg are fine, unfortunately .avi do not work).
