Build my own DSM 2.2-0959 for DS-106, update: 2.3, 3.0, 3.1

I build my own 0844 firmware fos DS-106. For german-reading user have a look at http://www.synology-forum.de/showthread.html?t=6367
First I compared 731 firmware for 106 and 106j and found following differences
in hda1.tgz (filesystem for systempartition)
/etc/synoinfo.conf
/etc.defaults/synoinfo.conf
/usr/syno/etc/manutil.conf
/usr/syno/etc.defaults/manutil.conf

in rd.bin(ramdisk)
/etc/synoinfo.conf

zImage(kernel) are the same. So I took 0844 for 106j, changed settings in .conf files and gave zImage and rd.bin a new ppcboot-header. I put pci-hutplug stuff for eSATA from DS-107 to hda1.tgz and adjust VERSION and checksum.syno. So I have a 0844 .pat file for DS-106.

This is experimenal, use it on your own risk! You may lost all your data, maybe your DS isn't working anymore, if you are in warranty, you lost warranty. There is no support from Synology.

This file is only for DS-106 and DS-106x(128MB RAM), NOT for DS-106e!!

Thanks for the details regarding syn support... much appreciated
i've looked in the CLI process list and found the memory managment (RAM) has had a perfomace increase with DSM 2.1...
here's a screenshot
If anyone would like to get the DS101G+ to be seen as a DS106 for the upgrade to DSM 2.1-0844 you can PM me...
I modified the .pat file for DS106 DSM 2.0 0640 from the outdated DS101G+ using 7ZIP.

I have a 106e which i would love to update to 2.1. I google translated your german forum post and noticed others asking for the process to update the 106e - anyone had any success or is anyone else looking to upgrade their 106e?

I'm happy to get into the code, but some pointers would be great so I don't brick it first time!!
