DS106J can no longerconnect to my ps3

Postby vancdeals » Wed Apr 22, 2009 6:35 am

I have DS106J and yes my ps3 can no longer connect to it... "No media server found"..
Also my vista pc loses connection to NAS after the upgrade. I wish I hadn't upgraded. I have tried various suggestions through these forums but nothing yet.
Filled out a tech support form as well...

If they get it working with an update or perhaps some kind of downgrade then great! Otherwise I am selling it off.

Update - i am limping along but still issues :(
Got in touch with tech support via email. Sent log files several times. Tried their suggestions

"Please try the following.
1. Create a new shared folder on the server.

2. Move all multimedia files to that folder.

3. Delete the default multimedia folders.

4. Disable UPnP.

5. Restart the server.

6. Enable UPnP on the server.

7. Move the multimedia files back to the proper folder and allow the system to reindex."

My PS3 still has problems finding it at times. Also now the drive doesn't like to power down properly. This is still quite annoying me. i am hoping they have a firmware fix soon.

What kind of drive are you using? doesn't 844 solve this issue?

I am using a seagate 500gb drive. The 844 for solved some issues but now the drive won't power down or hibernate!

Have you tried removing the cat5 ethernet from the rear to check hibernation?
Do you have anything installed on the system? mail/webalizer/etc?
You could also disable all services to see if it will successfully hibernate

From experience, webalizer won't let my 407's volume1 hibernate.
