Every time I try to install using the guide, I end up receiving this error when I try to enter the webgui (http://diskstation:8081/lighttpd/clutch):

The transmission .conf file is also empty when I open it with nano. What am I doing wrong? Is there any way to uninstall the software I install through ipkg?

As you probably understand, I am a total newbie when it comes to linux.

Recent versions of transmission no longer needs separate lighttpd to host clutch pages, they are bundled in transmission distribution.

For optware transmission, you can follow the "Quick start guide" section of http://www.nslu2-linux.org/wiki/Optware/Transmission
or for example http://mybookworld.wikidot.com/transmission

Thanks for the tutorials. I'm currently following http://mybookworld.wikidot.com/transmission. When the tutorial tells to install libiconv, I get following error in the console:

Nothing to be done
An error ocurred, return value: 4.
Collected errors:
Cannot find package libiconv.
Check the spelling or perhaps run 'ipkg update'

I have already tried "ipkg update". What should I do?

libiconv, ldconfig, and lighttpd proxy steps are specific to the mybook platform, it's not needed for your syno NAS.

I'm having problems with Transmission, in fact with transmission-daemon. It's get killed ramdomly, it can be running smoothly for a long time or it get the kill signal after 20 minutes.

Is anyone having problems like this?

PD: Synology 107+ with 128RAM and Transmission version 1.51.

Is it only the process that gets killed or the whole box? I experienced that my box froze if I had both Transmission and the built-in torrent downloader on.

has anyone installed the new 1.51 version? I've done the upgrade, but it seems that 1.51 makes lot's of connections and kills my DSL connection. Is there anyway to downgrade? I tryed -force-downgrade option, but with no success :(

I was wondering, before installing Transmission on my DS-107... is there a way to configure it to behave like download station? I mean, asking for a login password and, based on the login entered, show different download queues for each user?
