Try to untar them as follows

sqlite when standing in the directory /opt/local

Firefly when standing in the directory /opt/local/mt-daapd

Very wierd. I battled last week to instal this, and couldn't get it to start. Today when I had a moment to report my findings, i started it again and it all looks fine!

The compilations setting I want is there, under advanced options. I'll have a play over the weekend and report back.

Thanks again Mike.

Hi guys,

I'm trying to install mt-daapd on a 107+ station.

I'm using the latest version compiled my Mike.

I untared all in the folders following the guide in the Syno Wiki but, when I try to start the server, I obtain this error:

DiskStation> /opt/local/mt-daapd/etc/S99firefly.sh start
Starting DAAP daemon: mt-daapd
/opt/local/mt-daapd/sbin/mt-daapd: error while loading shared libraries: /opt/local/lib/libid3tag.so.0: ELF file version does not match current one

What I'm doing wrong? I get the same message using the older version, the one included in the Wiki.

Please help!

Got it working like a charm - thanks!

Anyone tried to get Firefly running with flac? I have added the extension to the config page, but something seems to be missing.
I have downloaded a flac library from ipkg, but I have a feeling that it just isn't enough? :)

Hi,

I cant seem to get this to work properly on the new 0722 firmware. It seems to clash with the itunes service. If I stop the iTunes service it kills firefly.

Unfortunately the iTunes service still seems unreliable!

Any ideas?

Thanks

FWIW, there is mt-daapd-svn packaged nicely in optware feeds, this is svn-1696 (a.k.a firefly), with common dependencies packaged as ipk's too.

I cant get this to load:

Marvin> /opt/bin/ipkg install mt-daapd-svn
Nothing to be done
An error ocurred, return value: 4.
Collected errors:
Cannot find package mt-daapd-svn.
Check the spelling or perhaps run 'ipkg update'

Can I download the file from somewhere?

I also tried ipkg update first too.

Thanks

http://ipkg.nslu2-linux.org/feeds/optwa ... -1_arm.ipk

But how come ipkg cannot find it from the feed?

I'm currently running (or would I say trying to have it function properly) firefly 1696 from the ipkg packages above. It keeps crashing after playing few songs. Has anyone already faced this issue (with fw 722 & 726) ?

Logs only show : Oct 24 21:16:37 mt-daapd[2743]: Rendezvous socket closed (daap server crashed?) Aborting.

I'm going to extend log verbosity, but if anyone has an idea in the meantime, that would be great !

By the way, has anyone seen a syno-compatible package of firefly ?

Thanks,
Yann

[UPDATE] Looks like crash is caused by transcodification of ogg files.... Any other idea to solve this ?

HI,

If I issue the command /opt/etc/init.d/S60mt-daapd it starts, but how do I get this to autostart on power up?

Thanks
