I've received 12 of those "Congratulations! Your DiskStation is now successfully connected to our system..." emails over the past 2 hours.

I also received an email from their support department stating that they are currently undergoing maintenance on the DDNS and MyDS servers, and that they should be contacted if the issue persists after 24 hours.

I know Synoogy invest a lot in research. Yes I know they got a SECURITY issue on their products. But hey they really try their best and we gotta help them IF we can. (mysql database out of our reach) I love them cause they're always listen to what we say in the end... They close our threads concerning "DDNS crackdown", but they work on it I'm sure. Maybe they got a management team issue. Of course, I hate when I got a "forwarding, please wait" DDNS message. They surely need to release an update and get their house in order. Anyway, I really trust these Taiwanese guys! Just hope that won't happen' again...

All seems OK now.
DDNS service registered successfully.
Able to log into MyDS.

Still not sure if these problems are linked but they're OK at the moment.

Same problem. Then I turned off notifications, re-enabled them, and NOW my notifications don't work. Yes, all settings are correct. So frustrating

go to the "register" tab and re-enter the pass with your original DDNS domain! Like... register synology.me (or else) "servername" and pass! You'll get a "normal" DDNS status afterwards (instead a "forwarding please wait")

So this is the thread, watching with interest; I find this very annoying, at least give us the option to disable the e-mails.

Are you sure that's it?

I get this from noreply@synology.com:

Dear user,

Connection to xxx.synology.me has been lost since 2012-06-18 10:16:29 GMT +08:00. Please check the network connection of your DiskStation, and make sure its DDNS service is enabled.

Sincerely,
Synology DDNS Service

Then a few minutes later I get the following:

Dear user,

Congratulations! Your DiskStation is now successfully connected to our system, and its connection to xxx.synology.me has been resumed since 2012-06-18 12:53:21 GMT +08:00.

Sincerely,
Synology DDNS Service

The e-mail is sent by Synology and not my DS; I have a DS set up at my parents house and it drops at the same time, the problem seems to be on Synology's end.

Is DDNS service not working?

Postby masood » Mon Jun 18, 2012 1:24 pm

Since about a week I am getting "DDNS service unable to register IP address.." error messages but somehow I was still able to connect. Today I can't seem to connect to my synology.me address but I am still able to access my Synology using IP address.

Is synology.me unreliable? what other free service can I use?

Thank you.

After half a dozen of "congratulations" messages, I keep receiving "System failed to register the external IP address". Sounds like the fixes are taking some extra days...
