Hi there,
I need to copy data from other locations/computers/nas and which have a FTP server installed.
Is it possible to have a DS412 run as FTP client ?

Not as far as I know, unless the other NAS is also a Synology, you will need to use a PC client to do that.
Some people spent a lot of time writing the Help files, use them!

if the other NAS is also a Synology, yiou can mount a drive/folder and copy right ?

Yes, or use the Network back-up option to sync for instance
